Showing up for the Black Tech community at Obsidi®’s 2024 BFUTR Global Tech Summit

December 12, 2024 | Diversity, equity and inclusion

Last month, BMO showed up ready to connect, learn and grow at the largest gathering of Black tech professionals globally, BFUTR Global Tech Summit.

This year’s conference raised the bar on BMO’s sponsorship commitment with timely presentations; an interactive booth featuring guest speakers and BFUTR’s first-ever Black Tech Pitch Showcase, sponsored by BMO.

Over the two-day conference, BMO hosted Tech Talk panels comprised of Team BMO and a keynote presentation featuring Marc Starks, Managing Director, Technology & Operations Strategic Initiatives for BMO Commercial Bank.

At the BMO booth, recruiters greeted well over 500 BFUTR attendees representing 200+ companies and organizations. Attendees connected 1:1 with BMO Recruiters and leaders and enjoyed presentations from guest speakers about navigating your career, imposter syndrome, building an online personal brand and more.

New this year, Nobellum—a female-led social and technology enterprise focused on strengthening the Black business ecosystem—hosted BFUTR’s first-ever Black Tech Pitch Showcase, sponsored by BMO.

The showcase featured 10 Black-led startups in the tech and social impact sectors, competing for $15,000 in award prizes. Over 150 attendees showed up to hear the pitches and catch a glimpse of tomorrow’s entrepreneurs today. Congratulations again to the winners:
