Growing the Black tech community at Obsidi®’s 2024 BFUTR Global Tech Summit
This November, BMO returns as a founding partner to the annual BFUTR Global Tech Summit – the largest gathering of Black tech professionals globally!
More than 15,000 Black professionals, 1,200 tech leaders and 100 speakers will come together November 6-7 at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario to enrich their professional networks and access unique learning opportunities.
This year’s conference offers features 70 unique professional development and industry talks from thought leaders across the globe – including from BMO.
On Thursday, November 7, Marc Starks, Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives for BMO Commercial Bank will deliver a keynote presentation on the mainstage: Career Harmony: Taking Diverse Paths with Intention.

New this year, BMO is sponsoring BFUTR’s first-ever Black Tech Pitch Showcase, which will be hosted by Nobellum—a female-led social and technology enterprise focused on strengthening the Black business ecosystem. The showcase will feature ten Black-led startups in the tech and social impact sectors, competing for $15,000 in award prizes. Industry leaders, including BMO, will be represented on the judging panel as well as two wraparound panel discussions. The winner will be announced on the BFUTR main stage on November 6.
This is the third year of BMO’s partnership with Obsidi, supporting endeavors from the BFUTR Global Tech Summit, Tech Talks and the Obsidi awards – as well as the second pitch showcase collaboration with Nobellum. Ongoing partnerships with organizations such as Obisidi and Nobellum positively impact our colleagues, customers and communities, bringing us one step closer to achieving a society with Zero Barriers to Inclusion.
