Unifying under one name: BMO
We’re always looking for ways to make things simpler and easier for our customers and clients—and that includes making our brand name simpler and shorter!
Though we’ve been known as BMO Harris Bank to our U.S. customers since 2011, we’ve found that many of our customers and clients prefer to use the shorthand “BMO” when they describe us. While this is especially true among our Commercial Banking and Wealth Management clients, 4 out of 10 personal banking customers leave out the “Harris Bank” when describing their banking relationship with us.
So, we’re embracing that simplicity too. Starting this week, we’re beginning a phased approach, updating our logo and brand name from BMO Harris Bank to BMO across all of our customer and client touchpoints. You can expect to see logos, website, social media pages, product names, and branch signage change over the next 18 months (though our legal name, BMO Harris Bank N.A., will remain the same for now).
At the same time, we want to honor and acknowledge the legacy of the Harris family name, which has been part of our business for more than 150 years. N.W. Harris founded our U.S. bank on the principles of honesty and fair dealing, and those principles remain embedded in the way we do business today: a bank committed to Boldly Growing the Good in business and life.
