BMO’s Employees Grow the Good for Communities with Employee Giving Campaign
BMO values its connection to the communities it serves—as customers, neighbours and partners. BMO employees build those connections, branch by branch and city by city, every day as part of living BMO’s Purpose: Boldly Grow the Good in business and life. They also celebrate those connections with the annual Employee Giving Campaign, which runs for two intense weeks in December. It’s an opportunity for BMO employees to show that their spirit of generosity runs deep, as it has throughout the bank’s history.
BMO employees across the bank’s footprint have exceeded their ambition, with more than $20 million raised in the campaign this year for the United Way and other charities of their choice. Even more impressively, that goal was reached with a truly all-hands effort: more than 90 percent of BMO employees contributed to the campaign.
BMO employees join with the bank in pursuing a special focus on promoting equality of opportunity, by partnering with and supporting the United Way in cities across North America. For BMO, growing the good means investing to help close the fairness gap in our society—the bank has worked with United Way for decades to bring resilience to local communities and strengthen neighbourhoods. In the past 16 months, BMO has extended that effort with bold new United Way partnerships to help support inclusive economic development in Toronto and Chicago neighbourhoods held back by inequality of opportunity.
