BMO pledges $1 million for local health care redevelopment in Kingston
BMO Financial Group has pledged $1 million, over ten years, to support redevelopment projects at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre’s (KHSC) Kingston General Hospital (KGH) site and Providence Care’s Providence Manor.
“Supporting the health and well-being of the communities in which we operate has long been a priority of BMO’s, and is core to our Purpose to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life,” said Sheri Griffiths, Regional President, Business Banking, Greater Ontario Region, BMO Bank of Montreal. “By ensuring individuals and families can access care in state-of-the-art facilities that are welcoming and designed to meet the complex needs of the community, the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation is building a healthier and more vibrant future for the people of Kingston and Southern Ontario.”
“We have excellent health care providers who are working in an older facility that no longer has the space to meet the growing demands for patient care that we have today, and anticipate tomorrow,” says Dr. David Pichora, President and CEO, KHSC. “Having modern facilities that are state-of-the-art, with the appropriate amount of space for today’s technologies and future developments is really important. This gift will allow us to build for the future of health care.”
BMO Financial Group has a long history of supporting health care in the Kingston region. Since their first recorded gift in 1984, they have donated more than $2.2 million to Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care, combined.
