At BMO, we know winning performance is contingent on being highly efficient, digitally enabled and future ready. Aligned with our focus on transformational change, we’re investing in the future of education with a $2.5 million donation to help build the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery (MCCD) – a new purpose-built, 9-storey, 125,000 square ft. addition to the existing DeGroote School of Business building at McMaster University.

Reimagining the future of business education for students

As the professional landscape changes, so does the demands on future generations. To address this shift, MCCD has been designed as a state-of-the-art collaboration, networking, and study space to help students learn and work together to solve real-time real-world problems.

The building is designed for interactive, interdisciplinary learning and teaching, enabled by a state-of-the-art learning environment. The first floor of the building will be the leading-edge BMO Connection Zone, a space designed to bring students from all areas and Faculties on campus to an area dedicated to encouraging thoughtful knowledge exchange.

Construction of MCCD is expected to begin this spring, and ready for the first cohort of students September 2023.

“BMO’s support underscores our commitment to advancing education and providing opportunities for students that will help them succeed,” said Sheri Griffiths, Senior Vice President, Head, Greater Ontario, Canadian Commercial Banking, BMO Bank of Montreal. “This new open and flexible space will allow students to integrate knowledge, skills and experiences across disciplines and foster collaboration.”
